Interaction with clients and work-team members, particularly with reference to responsibilities for planning and training activities, concerning work-team members, and facilitating and negotiating activities, concerning clients

 

 

 

 

 

 

Planning and management of client assignments in all aspects: economic, particularly with reference to responsibilities for negotiating fees including identification of unforeseen opportunities, drafting contractual agreements between the parties involved, preparing the related budgets, monitoring actual results compared with budgets, identifying extra costs for the quantification of additional fees, invoicing and collecting; and operating, particularly with reference to responsibilities for planning and adapting the audit methodology to the client, drafting detailed and agreed-upon work-plans covering identification of risk areas and related audit procedures as well as their timing, coordinating work performed by various internal functions -such as tax, legal, computer and similar experts- and at various even international locations, overseeing compliance with applicable administrative and legal requirements, taking position on discovered issues, communicating findings for final negotiation and conclusion of the work, and drafting and delivering the related reports

 

Management and coordination of personnel, particularly with reference to responsibilities for identifying and planning, considering personal and motivational aspects, the resources necessary for the completion of assignments, supervising work performance including parts assigned to myself given the complexity and subjective judgment involved, monitoring completeness of performed work and of discovered issues, “on-the-field” training and, in general, for the role in supervising resource planning for the whole Genoa office

 

Management of internal and external issues in all phases of the audit, particularly with reference to responsibilities for monitoring performance and good outcome of work, communicating at all levels any critical issues in a timely manner and identifying the related action plans

 

Quality control over work performed both nationally and internationally, particularly with reference to responsibilities for completing internal quality control procedures including evaluating the consistency of the adopted approach with both the Italian and the international technical and ethical principles, both in my and in others’ assignments, either in an investigative or a protective capacity

 

Supervision of audit work performed in various locations, offices and countries, particularly with reference to responsibilities for identifying the need for external support, drafting operating instructions for detached offices, verifying consistency of received reports with expected standards as well as their timeliness, overseeing quality of work performed in the event of reliance on other auditors and concluding on the sufficiency and appropriateness of work performed for the purpose of expressing an opinion

 

Participation in national and international, internal and external training programs, particularly with reference to responsibilities for drafting both national and international training materials, reviewing training contents and delivering training to small and large groups, even to external companies’ management needing targeted/focused technical insights

 

Support to operating and financial internal audit projects, particularly with reference to responsibilities for autonomously supporting structured and even international work-teams in the performance of their procedures, both from a linguistic and from a methodological and operating standpoint

 

 

Linguistic and accounting translation of separate and consolidated financial statements, particularly with reference to responsibilities for translating from/to Italian and English, as well as from/to Italian and US and International Accounting Principles and, especially, for coordinating projects aimed at the first-time adoption of International Financial Reporting Standards including: understanding the economic substance of the company’s transactions and analyzing its financial statements for conversion, determining the scope of action, gaining insights on applicable principles, determining data flow and convergence, preparing the conversion package and verifying the propriety of the above

 

 

 

 

 

 

Participation in projects concerning the initial public offering of equity and debt instruments, particularly with reference to responsibilities for performing work in connection with such financial transactions as issuance of shares or bonds or debt restructuring and the like, aimed at supporting the involved financial intermediaries in their role as guarantors of the transactions

 

Participation in various special projects, particularly with reference to responsibilities for such projects as due diligence / transaction support, agreed-upon procedures and confidence / comfort letters

 

Compilation of financial documents, particularly with reference to responsibilities for preparing such documentation for third parties as separate, consolidated and IAS/IFRS financial statements, explanatory notes, offering circulars, consolidation packages, statements of cash flows and the like

 

Research on accounting and auditing principles in the professional literature, particularly with reference to responsibilities for indentifying the best solution and, in the event of equivalent solutions or of highly subjective issues, for consulting with specific experts

 

Performance of audits pursuant to the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and related controls mapping, particularly with reference to responsibilities for planning and implementing required procedures in audits for compliance with the American legislation as well as analyzing the internal controls system to compare with best practices and corporate governance or to make recommendations

 

Main clients in: energy and heat generation and distribution, gaming, auto dealers (even integrated with companies providing insurance and financial services), trade associations, public companies, print and publication of newspapers and magazines, container rental rehire or sale (including fungible-type sales), shipbuilding and construction for vessels’ rental or management, shipping, marketing of various products, industrial and naval production and plants, high-end hotel hospitality, transport of cargo and passengers, pharmaceutical medicinal and biomedical, aeronautics, engine design and similar
